Hand Wash

Use cold water and a gentle detergent to wash your clothes. Make sure to separate your clothes by color - blues with blues, whites with whites, and reds with reds. If you have indigo dyed fabrics, wash them separately because they might lose some color at first.

Line Dry

After washing, gently wring out your clothes and then roll them up in a towel to get rid of excess water. Hang your clothes to dry in the shade, not in direct sunlight. Avoid using a dryer to prevent shrinkage and damage.

Machine Wash

Hand washing is best, but if you use a machine, use the delicate setting on a cold wash. Put delicate pieces in a wash bag to protect them. Machine washing is okay for certain items like bedspreads and sheets.

Ironing

If you like ironing, make sure to iron your clothes inside out. Be extra careful with fabrics like Jamdani and chikankari embroidery to avoid damaging the patterns.

Dry Clean

Some clothes need to be dry cleaned because of their colors or weaves. Air dry these clothes first to freshen them up before dry cleaning only when necessary.
